Hi, I have a concept and i’m wondering if Shopify will be capable of doing what I am planning. And if so, how easy it would be.
Without going into detail about the product.
I would like to sell a physical item that has a QR code sticker on it. When the customer receives the item, they can scan the QR code on it, which takes them to a webpage. The customer then can add details, notes or photos to the page.
The customer can then gift the item to someone else. The new person scans the same QR code, this gives them access the same web page and they can see all the details, notes and photos left by the original customer. now they too can add their own notes and photos as well. They can pass the item on again to someone else and so on. With each new person adding continuous running notes on the same webpage. Almost like a continuous diary or blog linked to the items QR code.
Each item sold will require its own QR code directing the customer to its own diary / blog webpage, where they can read all the previous comments and add their own, before passing the item on.
For each physical item sold I will need to create a QR code for it, linked to a new webpage and QR sticker to put on the physical item. preferably in batch as I may be selling dozens / hundreds at a time. With each webpage having the capability of being completed like a running diary anyone can fill out, once they have the QR code.
I hope that makes sense.
Is anyone aware of a Shopify site that already does this or similar.
Would Shopify be the right solution to handle this concept?
