mysterious package received with just a pebble in it - has Ground Advantage SHOPIFY ePostage label

I received a plain package two days ago with a pebble in it from Los Angeles. It was USPS Ground advantage and insured for up to $100. Packaging says “Ground Advantage US Postage Paid SHOPIFY ePostage”, Nothing else in the package. Return address: ALEX, 1415 Walnut St. Los Angeles, CA 90011. I have not ordered anything from anyone by this name or at this location. Then, yesterday I received ANOTHER mystery package with a bigger rock in it. Nothing else. Same postage situation but with a different return address: ISABELLA, 1212 Albany St., Los Angeles, CA 90015. In a google search these addresses are 2.5 miles apart. They appear to be empty warehouses. I am super puzzled. Has anyone had a similar situation happen? What could this be? It’s really creeping me out.

Hi @cherryannie

A quick search says it is a “Brushing” scam

So they got your address from somewhere but there are some paid tools like https://incogni.com/ that maybe could help

to secure your data.

Good luck

The same thing happened to me just today. I got a couple of rocks from that same address.

Thanks

Do you think it’s because you have a shopify account?

I received a small toy gun from this same address. Like a large keychain. Weird.

Me too

IMG I THOUGHT I WAS THE INKY INE I RECEIVED A SMALL Pebble twice

Same thing happened to me! I have 5 of these packages with pebbles in them from

5341 W 104th st, Los Angeles, CA 90045

1415 Walnut St, Los angles, CA 90011

3910 Broadway PL, Los Angeles, CA 90037

918 S Fetterly Ave Los Angeles CA 90022

they all have the same rocks in them but addressed to different people that don’t live at my address. Only one was addressed to me. I opened that one and didn’t open the others but it feels like they have the same things in them.

I got the same thing I’ve gotten 50 packages over the last three weeks all from like random people from Albany Street in California. One of the names is Piccolo, but which sounds like a fake name. But I’m not sure if it’s a brushing scam because that’s when they send you unsolicited packages to boost their reviews or something like that. How is mailing me a rock boosting any reviews of a company

Same. I just got two small pebbles. From the same address. But name was Emerson Velasco.

Mine package came from 1415 Walnut also. I just created a Shopify account when I saw this so no—I don’t think that’s whay
