is there a way to set up a buy ticket to win type of website using Shopify? Are there actually apps for it or can you just create using the standard shopping cart? It would need a countdown that shows the number of tickets left to buy and how many have been bought.

@mwdman8 – so you’re selling one specific product (ticket), that you have X copies in your inventory of and you would like to show how many are still available and how many are sold? Did I summarize this correctly?
You can display the inventory_quantity of the product as “tickets available” and subtract said quantity from your fixed value of initially available quantity to get the number of tickets sold.
Some custom implementation is necessary, but it surely is possible – if I got you right.
