New Shipping Label after fulfillment

I have a package that got returned for an incorrect address. I received an updated address from the customer and updated their shipping info with the order. I don’t see an option to print a new shipping label with the new address since the original item was fulfilled and the original shipping label had tracking info. How do I print a new label with the customers new address?

Hi, @Cameron904 .

Welcome to the Shopify Community.

When dealing with a returned package due to an incorrect address on Shopify, and after updating the customer’s shipping information, you’ll need to create a new shipping label. This is because the original order was already marked as fulfilled, and the initial label used.

One option is duplicating the order to create a new one with the same items. This allows you to manage inventory correctly and issue a new shipping label. Head to your Shopify admin > Orders section and click into the specific order. From the selected order page, click More actions in the drop-down menu > Duplicate order. Before finalizing the new order, ensure that the customer’s updated shipping address is correctly entered.

hi @Cameron904 I second @Victoria_13 on creating a new order or duplicating the original order to get the new shipping label with the updated address. It will also help you accurately report the returned or canceled orders. Moreover, sometimes the shipping address can result in additional shipping costs or lower shipping cost estimates and can result in partial refunds or additional payments from the customer.

I would also recommend creating new/duplicate orders to manage things accurately.
