No way to alter wording of order confirmation screen - and custom message on email not showing

Hi all. I’m about to tear my hair out here as I can’t see where I’m going wrong! I have two separate, but related issues. I am using the Dawn theme:

  1. I can’t seem to find a discernible way to change the wording of the order confirmation screen that displays to the customer immediately upon placing an order. There is no such setting that I can see to change the default wording.

  2. Although I can change the wording of the order confirmation email, customers nonetheless receive a basic confirmation with none of my custom message in it. The email preview seen in the Notifications section is completely different to what actually gets sent out.

Am I missing something obvious here? Many thanks in advance for any pointers.

Hi @jonathanstorey For changing the text on the order confirmation page you need to go inside the theme default content and there you can find the text that you can edit.

Login in shopify → Online store → There you will see 3 dots in the live theme → Edit default theme content → You can find the default wording in here and change it according to you.

For wording in the email, have you edit the text in the order confirmation email? or you have changed it some where else, if you have changed it somewhere else then please add the custom text in the order confirmation email this issue will also get fixed.
