I work for a 501c3 nonprofit that has an online store, store.wildmontana.org. We connected Shopify to our Salesforce CRM and it feeds in customer information as well as sales.
However, we’re struggling to find a solution to adding a donation option during the checkout process. Many of the apps I’ve found don’t separate the donation from the overall cart purchase, which means when it flows into Salesforce it is one lump sum.
I did find this app, from Get Change, that does separate the charges — but it’s geared toward for-profit stores to give folks the option of donating to a charity of their choice (and it is pricey at $25 a month).
I thought about exploring the “tip” option in Shopify, but it looks like it doesn’t charge separately either and we’d be in the same boat as the other apps. Are there any other nonprofits out there with a Shopify store that have found an affordable solution?
We’re also not opposed to reconciling the donations manually each month in Salesforce, but I’d like to hear what others are doing!
