Notification when products are back in store with coding(without app)
Hi @ANUSHA1 ,
Just so I’m understanding correctly, you’re wanting to create a way to notify customers of back-in-stock products but without the use of an app?
If so, we do have a tutorial available though it’s advanced and unsupported by Shopify devs, so I recommend hiring an Expert to help you out if you’re not comfortable working with HTML, CSS, Javascript and Liquid.
This code will create a “notify me when back in stock” form for customers to fill out, if they wish to be notified.
Hope that helps! Let me know if this isn’t quite what you were looking for.
Hi there,
Sorry to resurrect this old post, but it looks like that tutorial link is no longer valid. Do you have an updated link I can reference to create an in-stock notification without the use of a third-party app?
Hi Anusha,
Yes, it’s technically possible to build a back-in-stock notification system with custom code, but it can get a bit tricky. You’d need to handle:
-
Front-end form for collecting customer emails
-
Back-end logic to store and manage those emails
-
A way to track inventory updates
-
And most importantly, sending automated emails when products are restocked
It’s definitely doable, but it takes time, testing, and ongoing maintenance.
If you’re looking for something that just works without the hassle, our app might save you a lot of time:
REZ – Back in Stock ‑ Notify Me
It’s super easy to set up (no coding needed), and we offer a free plan with up to 1,000 emails/month, free forever.
You can set it up in minutes and let it handle everything automatically.
Happy to help you get started if you’d like!
