Number of products shown on collection pages

Hi,

I would like to increase the amount per products on collection pages. I’m currently using the code

{%- paginate collection.products by paginate_by 40%}

in the main-collection.liquid

But it’s not working for some reason. Any tips how to solve this?

Infinite scrolling would be an option too.
