Hello everyone. I am reposting my question on this community forum. I am experiencing this error: “Oauth error missing_shopify_permission: read_marketplace_orders” as I run my app on the testing store. Two days ago everything worked just fine. I haven’t modified scopes in any way so how can I solve this issue?
Topic summary
OAuth error “missing_shopify_permission: read_marketplace_orders” occurs on a testing store despite no scope changes and the app working two days prior.
Context: OAuth scopes are app permissions; “read_marketplace_orders” allows reading marketplace orders.
Guidance: A support representative recommends contacting Shopify support to authenticate the store and app and review the scopes.
Access: The user struggled to reach technical support via the Partners dashboard. The representative provided two options:
- Contact general support with test store details.
- Submit an authenticated bug report via https://help.shopify.com/en/questions/partners#/contact/report-an-issue to enable access for scope verification.
Status: No in-thread technical fix; resolution depends on support’s authentication and scope review.
Action items:
- File the bug report with test store details.
- Allow support to authenticate and verify permissions.
Open questions: Whether the required scope changed, is restricted, or needs additional approval for testing stores.
HI @mattfrat you may be best to contact our support team directly so they can authenticate your store and app and review the scopes that are listed.
Thanks. How can I contact the support team? I tried that in the partners dashboard but an operator redirected me here for technical questions
Hi @mattfrat , in order to authenticate your request you can contact general support with your test store details or use our bug report tool to create an authenticated support request https://help.shopify.com/en/questions/partners#/contact/report-an-issue this will enable us to authenticate access where necessary. Thank you.
