I’m just finding out about these OG tags. Basically, when I send someone the link to my website, I want it to show a picture of my choosing and a short description. At the moment it is just a link. I’m told this is easy enough to do but I have zero idea on how to actually do it.

I have the image I want to use saved into my shopify files and I have the text I want to use saved in a note.

Could anyone explain how to get this transferred into a tag so it appears when the link is shared?

If i’ve not explained this very well, copy the link to the GymShark website and you’ll see what I mean when you paste it into your reader

Thank you

If your OG tags are not functioning correctly in the Motion Theme, follow this detailed, step-by-step guide to fix the issue

  1. Understand Open Graph Tags
  2. Check Your Theme’s OG Tags
  3. Add or Fix OG Tags, if missing
  4. Add OG Tags for Product Pages which is optional
  5. Then Save and Test
  6. Clear Shopify’s Cache, if needed

Tips for Best Results

  • Use images that are 1200 x 630 px for optimal display on Facebook.
  • Write clear, engaging descriptions that encourage clicks.
  • If your OG tags are not still displaying correctly, clearing your theme’s cache or contacting Shopify Support may help.

Thanks but this doesn’t answer my question. I am asking how to create these tags and where to place any code (if necessary)
