PAYOUTS: A FASTER WAY TO GET YOUR PAYOUTS?

Just started with Shopify. If you don’t adopt an immediate payout option, I will likely not be able to continue or recommend your service, my payments with woocommerce were immediate and that was a free service. Literally EVERY other bank service has an immediate payout option. Sadly some greedy ones ask for extra money for the service, others like Zelle do it feee of charge even for Large sums. Please consider you are a service business and we are paying you pretty well already. The money belongs to the merchant immediately upon purchase to facilitate the processing of the order, so holding it for any period is not appropriate.

Why do the payout periods, referred to in the link you supplied, vary by country?

For example;

Australia - 2 days

France - 3 days

UK - 3 days

Hong Kong - 5 days

US - Same day to 5 days dependent on store activity

Is this a practical processing delay related to Shopify resource in those locations? Why would you be able to payout Australia in 2 days and UK takes 3?

Understanding this might help us better appreciate the situation for Shopify.

My payment for 2k was captured on the 26th and isn’t going to come through until the 31st… This is enough for me to leave… Going to rebuild on BigCommerce Catalyst. Cya Shopify, if you spend all your profit advertising to 18 year olds and not improving your system legitimate business will leave. Our dropoff once a user gets to checkout is 90% and i’m almost certain that it’s because Shopify’s reputation is down the drain. People see a Shopify checkout and think twice now… It’s downhill from here imo.

It’s because they make huge money on holding everyone’s hard earned money for as long as they can get away with - so obvious, and so sad when every other platform is instant. It kills us to have a big day and not see it until the next week sometimes. We have been on shopify from the start (7+ years) but it’s a massive issue now for us and we are doing the maths on what it would cost to change over so we can be more in control of cashflow. Especially annoying because they are being greedy and not supporting their retailers - who pay decent money in fees per order, per month, etc etc anyway.

Has there been anything discussed about this? I’m going on 2 years with Shopify and lately the payouts are getting out of hand. Especially if you have a loan because if the funds aren’t there when the “loan payments” process they fail and it goes against you. Also, when you are selling in bigger quantities and want to ship ASAP sometimes you can’t because you are waiting for funds to pay for the shipping you collect.
I switched from Square to Shopify 2 years ago, but I’m seriously thinking of not renewing with Shopify come March when my subscription is up. Square pays immediately, so if you have a Square debit card you have access to funds from sales within 5 mins of online or in person sales. I don’t really understand why Shopify takes so long, unless you just want the interested on our funds. I mean I just use the Shopify card for everything and it’s not even going into my bank account, so really there is no reason for the delay.
Can someone tell me if this will change soon? If nobody knows or there are no plans to fund quicker, then I will switch back to Square. It’s embarrassing to tell your customers your turn around time is 1 to 2 business days and then funds take 4 or 5 days to load even to the Shopify card. I end up just using a business credit card for it, but I shouldn’t have too as it’s for emergencies only.

Hi my payouts are taking 5-7 days. is there anyway of being able to receive my payouts faster?

Does anyone know if we can use a different credit card processor and still use shopify? Or will we have to switch to an external card reader to do that? I am using shopify as my POINT OF SALE IN MY STORE and the customer walks out the door with my product that I already paid for, and then I’m not seeing my money for 7 DAYS.

Plus, they’re telling me the cutoff is 6 pm CST so all of my orders that come in after 6 pm (I’m open til 10 pm) will go into next day’s sales. An accounting nightmare - they told me I could go into every order and see what items are sold so I could move those sales into the next day. NOOOO that’s not how it is supposed to work!! So frustrated. This system is brand new to me and I lvoe everything else but this is enough to make me switch to something else after this summer!!! I guess I won’t bring it into my larger boutique for sure!!!

Zero progress done so far.. Shopify doesnt really care about their customers anymore.. People has asked for faster payouts since this platform started running, and still to this day, we see zero progress done by shopify for a batter solution on payouts delay.

Shopify simply doesnt care about their customers anymore.. Every customer of shopify would wish for faster payouts, but no.. Please Shopify, listen to ur customers and fix this delay in payouts.. You are killing ur customers businesses.

No. Shopify doesnt listen their customers. They have done absolutely nothing for faster payouts. They are killing their customers businesses slowly. DO NOT USE SHIOPIFY, Much better options are available with instant payouts.

Is there a possibility to kind of a drag and drop my store to other platform? Im happy to switch platform if i can “copy” my store effortlessly. Im so frustrated with Shopifys delay in payments.
