Key Details:

  • The merchant never changed their account information
  • The account number displays correctly in Shopify settings
  • The bank initially accepted the incorrect transfers as a courtesy but can no longer do so
  • Payouts continue to fail despite the correct information being visible

Current Status:

  • Customer orders have been fulfilled
  • Business operating funds are inaccessible
  • Support has not resolved the discrepancy between what’s displayed in settings versus what’s being transmitted
  • The merchant is considering abandoning Shopify entirely due to frustration with the circular support process

The issue remains unresolved, with neither Shopify nor the bank taking responsibility for the incorrect digit being transmitted.

My payouts have been put on hold. I contacted support. They said my bank stopped the payouts. I contacted my bank. They said shopify has been entering my correct checking account number until mid Nov, and then they started entering 1 incorrect digit. My bank said that as a courtesy they have been allowing it to post, but that they can no longer accept the inccorect digit. It is 1 digit off my checking account number. I never changed the number. No one is able to access these restrictions in my user account. When i check my routing number and my account number in my settings it is correct. It keeps saying payouts failed. I contacted support and this is the most ridiculous circle of digital terror Ive been a part of. My customers have all recieved there products and Shopify has my small business operating expense fund resting somewhere not in my account. Do you think its better at this point to just give shopify the money, cancel my website, and start up with a different provider, and spend the rest of my life talking people out of using Shopify as an advocate against this company or?
