Please help me turn my email signup into a block

Topic summary

Goal: Move the newsletter/email signup in the Shopify Dawn theme to one side of the footer by turning it into a block that can be positioned within the footer section.

Context: The poster shared two images (current blue footer vs. desired green footer). These visuals are central to understanding the target layout.

Progress: A helper requested the store URL and password; the poster provided them. After checking, the helper said the change is possible via customization but did not share specific steps.

Outstanding needs: The poster asked how to implement and how to format the block, and another participant echoed “how do I do this?”. No code, theme editor instructions, or styling details have been provided yet.

Status: Open/Unresolved. The thread is awaiting concrete, step-by-step guidance on creating/adding a newsletter as a footer block and formatting it for side-by-side placement within the footer. (In Shopify, a “block” is a configurable content unit inside a theme section that can be repositioned.)

Hi!

I’m using shopify dawn, and i’m looking to move my email signup/newsletter to one side of the footer. The easiest way to do that seems to be to make the newsletter signup into a ‘block’ that i can add into the footer, as opposed to just clicking to add it into the footer. I’m adding images of what the footer looks like (blue footer)

vs. what I want it to look like (Green footer).
