OK, the last time I made a POS change request, it happened shortly after. Maybe it was coincidence, but maybe someone associated with POS thinks my opinions are important enough that they should pay heed and take due acton.
Yeah, it was probably coincidence.
Here it is: When there is a credit card in the chip reader (regardless of which chip reader) we need something on screen so we know to make sure the customer takes their card. The Chipper 2X beeps, but it’s so quiet that I don’t hear it until the store is totally silent—and apparently there is no way to change the volume. We need something better.
If I remember correctly, we cannot print a receipt until the card is removed, so it appears that the system already “knows” when there is a card in the reader. But the majority of customers for my business do not want a receipt, so that doesn’t help us. Please, go one step further: Put a big red CARD IN READER on the screen, create a popup, or, at the very least, do not let us move onto the next transaction until that card has been removed.
I’m sitting here looking at yet another customer credit card that was left behind, wondering why they so rarely come back to pick it up when they’re carrying one of our bags, and thus clearly know where they were. So I figure what the hell, and use their card to buy bulk candy and Snuggies. The police show up and won’t take the candy as a bribe (and it’s not worth it to me to give up my Snuggies), and it all becomes a big to do with court dates and newspaper articles, and my mom tells me she’s not mad, just disappointed.
Please, add this feature and protect me from my own bad decisions.
