Hi, we currently have a shopify online store and bricks and mortar store which we currently use shopify POS with a third party card terminal. We are now finding the pos side too slow and having to manually enter the amounts in the card terminals is a pain as well as making mistakes or the till not balancing. Shopify fees are too expensive for us to justify moving over and also we are used to next day payouts. Can anyone recommend a good POS system that syncs up with shopify. We like the look of clover and have used Clover systems in the past.
Thanks you.

Hi @CraigEaston
I totally get your frustration—manually entering amounts into a separate card terminal is not only time-consuming but also increases the chance of errors. It sounds like you need a POS system that integrates seamlessly with Shopify while keeping your transaction process fast and efficient.
Since Shopify’s in-house POS fees don’t work for you, looking at third-party solutions makes sense. Given that you’ve used Clover before and like its interface, you’ll be happy to know that Clover does offer Shopify integration. However, keep in mind that Clover doesn’t have a native app in the Shopify App Store—you’d need a third-party connector like Sync Clover or use API solutions, which can be an added cost and setup hassle.
**Some alternative POS systems that integrate well with Shopify:**1. Square POS – One of the most popular third-party POS systems with Shopify integration. It syncs inventory, works with various card terminals, and provides next-day payouts (like you’re used to). However, the integration is not native, so you’ll need to use an app like Square Sync from the Shopify App Store.
- Lightspeed POS – A great all-in-one solution with solid Shopify integration. It’s more feature-rich than Square but may have a steeper learning curve and higher pricing depending on your needs.
- Zettle by PayPal – A more budget-friendly option that integrates with Shopify and supports next-day payouts. It’s easy to use and eliminates manual entry errors.
If you’re set on Clover, you’ll need to work with an integration tool or manually sync your sales, which can be a bit of a hassle. But if you want a smoother plug-and-play setup, Square or Zettle might be the best alternatives for your situation.
Let me know if you want specific details on setup or pricing!
Best regards,
Daisy.
