Possible to integrate UPS Simple rates with Shopify?

Hello –

Has anyone had success integrating UPS Simple Rates with Shopify? I can’t find a way to do it.

UPS is a “flat rate” (as it were) service for shipments under 50 lbs that meet certain cubic measurement criteria.

It’s a game changer for those who ship heavier things and want the reliability of UPS parcel for shipments.

I have a commercial UPS account. So far as I know, one cannot integrate UPS Simple with World Ship program. I believe that UPS Simple postage has to be obtained via the UPS.com website, after you’ve logged into your account.

At least that’s been my experience so far. But it’s obviously a cumbersome process to print out labels from the website, after entering shipping info by hand, rather than the “one click” off the Shopify UPS / USPS integration we otherwise use.

Yes, it is possible to integrate UPS shipping rates with a Shopify store. Shopify provides a built-in UPS shipping rate calculator, which can be enabled in the shipping settings of your Shopify admin. Once enabled, the shipping rates will automatically be calculated at checkout based on the weight and dimensions of the items in the customer’s cart, as well as the shipping destination. If you want more advanced features like real time rates, you can use third party apps such as “UPS Shipping - Easy and Accurate Rates” or “UPS Shipping and Tracking” which are available on the Shopify app store. These apps provide more options, such as the ability to print shipping labels and track packages.

I’m afraid this doesn’t quite answer the question. Of course one can integrate UPS rates into Shopify, but there appears to be no way to integrate UPS Simple Rates (flat rate shipping up to 50 lbs based on cubic inches of packages). I do see that with Worldship 2022 and 2023, UPS now offers a box one can check to calculate simple rates. but it remains to be seen whether this particular option can be indicated in Shopify’s back end.
