Hi, I am from Pakistan. I bought a prebuilt store from dropship.io which came with country/region setting for US. I followed all the steps until i reached payment setup where they are asking details of account representative. As it turns out theses details should be of someone from USA. I am from Pakistan. How do i solve this. Do i setup alternate payment method or change my country. But if i change my country the pre-added products would be of no use. Help me out please.
Topic summary
A user from Pakistan purchased a prebuilt dropshipping store configured for the US market but encountered payment setup issues. Shopify Payments requires US-based account representative details for verification, which the Pakistani user cannot provide.
Suggested solutions include:
-
Use alternative payment gateways that accept international sellers:
- Payoneer (supports USD transactions)
- 2Checkout/Verifone
- PayPal business accounts
-
Keep US store settings while implementing a Pakistan-compatible payment gateway to preserve pre-loaded products
-
Switch store region to Pakistan if necessary, though this may require finding new suppliers (like AliExpress or CJ Dropshipping) that offer international shipping
-
Consider automation tools like AutoDS, which offers free prebuilt stores compatible with various payment gateways and manages global suppliers/fulfillment
The discussion remains open with the user evaluating which approach best balances their existing store setup with payment processing capabilities available in Pakistan.
Hi @anonymous15
You can use an Alternate Payment Gateway – Since Shopify Payments requires a US-based person for verification, you can use third-party gateways that work in Pakistan, like:
- Payoneer (connects to Shopify and allows USD transactions)
- 2Checkout (now Verifone)
- PayPal (if available via a business account)
Or, keep your store US-Based & use a payment provider that works – Instead of changing your country, keep the store’s region as the US (so your products remain valid), but set up a payment gateway that allows you to receive international payments in Pakistan (e.g., Payoneer).
If you must switch your Shopify region to Pakistan, your product suppliers should ideally offer international shipping. If your dropshipping supplier is US-based and only ships within the US, you might need to find alternative suppliers on AliExpress or CJ Dropshipping that ship globally.
Hi! This is a common issue when buying prebuilt stores set up for the US. The payment setup usually requires US-based details (like Stripe or a US bank account), which can be tricky if you’re in Pakistan.
You have a couple of options:
Alternate payment methods: Shopify supports gateways in Pakistan such as PayPal alternatives, 2Checkout, and others. You can switch your store region to Pakistan and set one of these up.
Keep US targeting but use automation: If you want to continue selling to the US, you can still do it. You’ll just need to adjust the payment gateway and suppliers. A tool like AutoDS can help here since it connects with multiple suppliers, automates order fulfillment, and makes it easier to manage inventory even if you’re not based in the US.
You need to ensure your payment gateway accepts international sellers. Many people in your situation use 2Checkout or Payoneer for this. Also, something worth noting: AutoDS actually offers free prebuilt Shopify stores. This can be a big help if you’re in Pakistan because instead of being locked into a store set up only for the US, you can start fresh with a store that works with your own country’s payment gateways and still sell globally.
So: either change your store’s region to Pakistan and use a local gateway, or keep targeting the US and pair it with a solution like AutoDS for suppliers + a global payment gateway that works for you.
