I’m having a hard time with collection sections in my Shopify theme Sense 2.0 the free one.
All the collections there (I have 12) can be ONLY displayed by:
alphabetically from A-Z
alphabetically from Z-A
date from old to new
date from new to old
product count from high to low
product count from low to high
But I want to organize them as I please and not by any of the previously mentioned methods because they have all different names, have different number of products inside and I don’t want them to change positions on the displaying page every time I update any of them or add a new product. I just want them to display specifically as I need to in the order that I wish.
What part of the theme shall I modify or how would any of you approach this problem?
I’m not good with PHP, not a programming language that I use, unfortunately.
Hi there @alimon . I’m happy to help you out with this! Can you tell me more about the order you’d like your products to be sorted? Are you trying to highlight certain products at the top of the page?
The collection sorting options shown in your theme editor are the options your customers have to sort the collection as they view it on your storefront. If you want to manually sort the way your collections appear by default, you can do this within your collection’s settings. To get to your collection’s settings go to Products > Collections in your Shopify Admin and click the collection you want to edit. On the page you are brought to, you will find the option to change your default sort order under the Products section. If you select Manually, you will be able to drag your products around to arrange them in the order you’d like. The steps to edit your collection’s sort order are explained here as well.
If you want more control over the search and filter options your customers see, I would recommend taking a look at the app, Shopify Search & Discovery, as well. This app allows you to better customize your storefront search, filters, and recommendations.
