Product feed in chatgpt?

We noticed our products are in chatgpt as shopping cards, but we are wondering if

  • all of them are ‘indexed’?
  • if price and stock information is accurate?
  • if we’re competing with other retailers on the same product?

Does anyone with a shop looking at this? If yes, how?

Hi @phb1 ChatGPT doesn’t “index” products the same way Google does. The product cards you’re seeing come from data feeds that merchants connect to ChatGPT. A few points to keep in mind:

Are all your products included?

Only the products that your connected integration sends to ChatGPT will appear. If something is missing, it’s usually because the feed isn’t sending it or the product is excluded (hidden, unavailable, missing required fields, etc.).

Is pricing and stock accurate?

Price and inventory depend on how often your integration syncs data with ChatGPT. Some apps sync in real time, others update every few minutes or hours. If you’re seeing outdated info, check how your app handles syncing.

Are you competing with other retailers?

ChatGPT may show similar items from different retailers if they all send product feeds. It doesn’t “rank” them in the same way Google does, but it may show multiple options when a user asks for comparisons or alternatives.

How to check what ChatGPT sees?

The simplest method is to ask ChatGPT directly, just like a customer would. For example:

  • “Show me [your store name] products.”
  • “What is the price of [product name] from [your store]?”
  • “Which retailers offer [product]?”

This helps you see exactly what customers see.

If something looks off, review your product feed settings in the app you use to connect your store to ChatGPT. This is usually where the sync rules, visibility, and data accuracy are controlled.

Hope this helps!
