My product thumbnails are too big. Part of the image gets cut off in the thumbnail. Is there a way to show the full image?

look at the second row, the full image is not shown and part is cut off the frame
I know it is because the image size I uploaded is probably not standard size, but I wish there is way to display the full thumbnail image for all products.
Also, some products are shown as “on sale” on the top right corner of the image, but they are not, how do I change that as well?
