We’re pleased to be able to share that Product Type is now translatable. This works with Search & Discovery app so that you can use this as a filter in different languages. You will find ‘Product type’ as a new field on a product, and it will also be auto-translated when translating either the whole store or just one product. In order to use it as a filter, you’ll need to be sure that all products have the same translation.
Very nice, but what if you have 4000 products in one product_type??? I know CSV export and back import but this is very slow method. After i do csv export and import in product type filter in default language i have both descriptions in default language and translated desc. in english
For example in Croatian i have Plovci translated in english like Floats and thats fine. When i select english i see Floats and thats also fine, but when i select Croatian / default store language i see Plovci Floats (both translations). Why is this a problem??? What i am missing
We are seeing the same behaviour in our shops. We use the Enterprise theme from Clean Canvas.
Default language shows all product_type translations as value in the Product Type filter, while the ‘other languages’ show the correct translated value.
@richbrown_staff Is this an issue within Shopify or the Search and Discovery app or could it be the theme?
