We are both an online store and a brick-and-mortar location. I need to be able to make promotions that only student get, but that also excludes textbooks and custom items.
We have thousands of items in our store, and receive more each week, so it’s impossible to continually items to the discount codes. I also cannot discount by category, because we have custom items that are not eligible for discount in most categories.
What I really need is a discount app that allows exclusions by type or tag, but discounts everything else in the store. I’d also like to be able to pick if a discount is in-store or online only.
Anyone have a produce like this?

Our app doesn’t support separate discounts just for POS, but when it comes to exclusions, Alpha Sale has exactly what you’re looking for. You can set up both flash sales (using compare-at prices) and discount codes or automatic discounts. Each promotion can be set to exclude specific products by tag. For compare-at-price discounts, exclusion by product type is also supported.
