Can anyone help with how to stop a proxy bot. The IP address changes all the time. The address and name the only constant is the postcode E1 7AA.
This has been happening for the past month. Shopify don’t care!!
A Shopify store has been receiving suspected bot activity for about a month. The IP address changes, but the orders or activity repeatedly use the postcode E1 7AA, which commenters identify as a commonly used test or fake-data postcode that can pass UK address validation. Because the IP rotates, blocking by IP is unlikely to work; behavior-based controls or apps and automated flows may help block or cancel orders.
The key unanswered question is whether the activity results in paid orders, declined payment attempts, or only fake accounts, spam, and abandoned checkouts. The suggested response depends on that: search orders for the postcode, cancel and refund suspicious paid orders before shipping, and review checkout fraud settings if the attempts indicate card testing. For spam accounts or contact submissions, check that Shopify’s spam-protection options are enabled. Commenters note that browsing, scraping, and abandoned checkouts may be difficult to prevent entirely. No specific fix or confirmed resolution is reported.

There are apps and flows you could create to block/cancel orders. You should look into integration rather than relying on Shopify to do it.
For browsing, scraping, and even abandoned checkouts, there’s not much you can do. Just accept that the world is full of bots, make sure you’re not fulfilling fraudulent orders, and move on.
That postcode E1 7AA is a classic test/fake data postcode - bots love it because it passes UK validation. Since the IP is rotating, you can’t block by IP, you have to block by behavior
Search Orders for E1 7AA first. If those are paid orders, cancel them. If they’re declined attempts, the problem is card testing, and your checkout’s fraud settings matter more than the IP address.
what’s it actually doing, paid orders or just accounts and checkouts? if it’s fake accounts or contact from spam, check both spam protection boxes are ticked under online store > preferences, thery’re on by derault but worth a look. if it’s reall orders, cancel and refund before anything ships
