Remove Dark Overlay on Promotion Grid Images Impulse Theme

Topic summary

Problem: In the Impulse theme’s promotion grid, uploaded images are automatically darkened by an overlay, causing a visible color shift. One image with text on a solid color that matches the header/footer hex code appears darker after upload.

Requested help: The poster seeks custom CSS or Liquid code to remove or disable the overlay on promotion grid images.

Responses so far: Two replies request the store URL (and password, if applicable) to inspect the setup and provide a store-specific solution. No general-purpose fix or code snippet has been shared yet.

Status: Unresolved and ongoing. Next step is for the original poster to share store access details so tailored guidance can be provided.

Notes: The “promotion grid” is a homepage section with image tiles; the “overlay” is a semi‑transparent layer applied to images, typically to improve text contrast.

When I upload my images to the promotion grid they become darker. One of my images is text on a solid color in the exact same hexcode as the header and footer in my theme but when I upload it the color changes because of the overlay. Is there custom CSS I can add to this section in my theme, or otherwise code that I can add to liquid to fix this? Thank you!
