How can I remove ‘default title’ from store information?
Hi there
The term “Default Title” usually shows up on a product page when the product has no variants set up in Shopify. Shopify automatically adds a single variant called “Default Title” to products that don’t have options like size, color, or style.
Here’s how to remove or hide it:
If your product does not need variants at all
- Go to Products in your Shopify admin
- Click on the product showing “Default Title”
- Scroll down to the “Variants” section
- If there’s only one variant (with the default title), click the trash icon to delete it
- Save the product
This turns the product into a no-variant item, and the “Default Title” will no longer show
If the trash icon is disabled
You’ll need to click “Edit” on the variant and change the name to something more relevant, like “One Size” or “Standard”
If you have multiple products to fix
You can also use the bulk editor in Products to remove or rename “Default Title” across multiple items
Hi @milly41,
I’m happy to help!
Can you share your store URL and if possible export the theme and send to me. I will take a look to completely remove it.
You should go to your store admin > Sales channels > Online Store > Themes > Customize > click Homepage dropdown menu > Products > open your product template, then you can see a block under product title contains “Default title”, remove it and click the Save button.
@milly41 can you please share your page link? it can be done via editing code or using css, I will check it and let you know
