Removing code from product page

Topic summary

A user encountered mysterious code appearing on their Shopify product page frontend. The code appears to be reversed/mirrored text containing URLs and references to their site.

Suggested Solutions:

  • Revert product-related theme files to a previous version
  • Check for broken tags in the code, particularly in schema markup
  • Manually inspect and fix product files if familiar with the codebase
  • Roll back the entire theme to an earlier version using Shopify’s built-in feature

Troubleshooting Steps:

  • Identify which liquid files were recently edited
  • Check if any third-party apps were recently installed or removed
  • Review schema code for errors (GemPages identified this as a potential source)

Status: The issue remains unresolved. The user asked for clarification on how to perform the rollback, but no follow-up response was provided. The root cause—whether from manual code edits, app conflicts, or corrupted files—has not been determined.

Hello @righteousgelato ,

A tag is broken in the code. Try to revert the product related files to previous version.
Or if you are aware about code check product files manually and fix the tag.

Thanks

HI! How would I revert it back?

Hey, @righteousgelato

Would love to help you with this one. You should be able to roll back your theme to an earlier version. Check out this help page to learn more. However, to do this, you would need to know which .liquid files you have edited recently.

If you haven’t edited any .liquid files recently then we’d to know where the code has routed from. Have you installed or removed any third-party apps?
