Hi!
I have added policies to my footer. For some reason they also appear in my main menu (see the photo attached). I don’t want it to be displayed double. How can I remove it from main menu?
*I CAN NOT see it in my navigatsion window (main menu photo attached) so I can’t delete it from there.
*I can see it on my footer through navigation
Someone smarter than me, please HELP

Hey there, @evaoherjus . Thanks for reaching out regarding your situation here. It’s nice to meet you!
Really appreciate the screenshots you provided - it shed a lot of light into the situation here for me. It looks like the theme you’re using is pulling your Footer Menu Items into the same Menu Section as your ‘Main Menu’ Items’. So it’s not combining the menus, but it’s putting the information in that side-menu format together. This explains why you aren’t seeing the ‘Footer menu’ items in the ‘main menu’ section in your navigation settings - because the theme itself is doing this, and not any settings you’ve got going on for your navigation.
There is likely a way to turn off this pulling of information within your Theme Editor. Depending on the theme you’re using, I can download a copy and look for the specific setting myself, and then advise you on what setting it is. Can you let me know what theme you’re using?
If the theme is third party, then our Shopify scope of support may be limited. I’d like to see what theme you’re using first before deferring you to the Theme Developers, or Shopify Experts, for support.
Get back to me when you can with the name of your theme, and we’ll continue from there!
Hi!
Thank you so much for your long answer. I am using Brooklyn Theme.
I really appreciate your help on getting my website up and ready!!
Best regards

Hi there, @evaoherjus aka Eva!
So sorry for the delayed reply. I’ve been out of the office but I’m back in now and just catch back up with everyone.
Thank you SO much for providing the name of the theme you were using. I downloaded a copy to my own store, and found a way to hide that footer menu appearing in the main menu there. I’ll give you the steps, and some screenshots below!
- First, login to your admin
- Then, go to ‘Online Store’ on the left hand menu, and to go ‘Themes’
- Click the green ‘customize’ button that should appear for your published, Brooklyn theme
- Then, you should be in your Theme Editor. Click on the ‘Main Menu Icon’ that appears on the screen.

-
Now, scroll down the menu on the left and find the box called ‘Secondary Sidebar Menu’ and click the ‘Change button’
-
Select the option that says ‘remove menu’
-
Click the green ‘Save’ button on the top left of your screen
This should hide that menu for you! I know this help is a little delayed, but I hope that you still find these steps helpful!
