I’m using the Prestige theme and I normally had on ‘Show full-screen images’ but turned it off for accessibility issues on other devices. One thing I don’t like though is that the slideshow on my website doesn’t fully cover the entire screen on desktop. How can I fix this? Store url: https://mk0uuf-h3.myshopify.com/?pb=0
Topic summary
A user working with the Prestige theme wants their homepage slideshow to cover the full screen height on desktop (specifically 1920x1080) after disabling the ‘Show full-screen images’ option due to accessibility concerns on other devices.
Problem: The slideshow currently doesn’t extend to full screen height, leaving visible content below it.
Attempted Solutions:
- A previous community thread solution was suggested but didn’t work (different theme)
- Custom CSS code was provided to make the slideshow full-screen using
height: 100vh - The code was later modified to target only 1920x1080 desktop resolution using a media query
Current Issue: The CSS solution works but stretches the image to fit rather than enlarging it proportionally, resulting in poor visual quality.
The discussion remains unresolved, with one contributor offering paid services to fix both the stretching issue and an apparent problem where the slideshow isn’t displaying on desktop or mobile.
Hello there @Jarch2 You should have a look at the reply marked as a solution here in this previous community thread https://community.shopify.com/c/shopify-design/slideshow-on-main-page-to-fit-full-screen-on-desktop-and-mobile/td-p/2220424
I want the slideshow image to be the full width of the screen too. Currently its not and you can see the section below it
That solution was for a different theme and doesn’t work
Please add this code to theme.liquid file, after
I didn’t clarify it but I wanted the code to only work on the desktop 1920x1080. And for anything else thats desktop to be the default. How can I do this?
No I mean The main slideshow image, I want the height to be fullscreen and cover the entire screen.
Please update the code to this
This works but it stretches out the image in order for it to fit instead of just enlarging the image which makes it look really bad
