Retina Theme: 3 column section on the home page

I can’t seem to make the html work for a three column text section on my home page. The theme is Retina from Out Of The Sandbox and it doesn’t include a multi column section built in. My attempts look great in the editor but don’t work on the live site. Any help to resolve this seemingly simple request? URL is janjohnstonartworks.com

The three text columns below the product section is what I’m looking to solve. This is the view in the editor from the html I’ve written.

But, this is the live home page shows three rows instead of the three columns from my html.

Follow these Steps:

1. Go to Online Store

2. Edit Code

3. Find theme.liquid file

4. Add the following code in the bottom of the file above tag

That works! Now I have the three columns but they are unequal in width. Is there specific way to specify the column width in html? I’m using

but both are producing same result = uneven column widths.
