I am looking for an App that will help with scheduling delivery of our products, but I have some special parameters.
Our customers often find our products while they are traveling or on vacation. I would like to find a way that they can go online, order our products, but schedule a delivery day for when they arrive back home. We don’t do local pickup and we don’t do local delivery. Everything is shipped, so some of the apps that work well for florists may not work for us.
We are switching our fulfillment to Amazon (for both our Amazon orders and our Shopify store orders) and our Amazon rep isn’t familiar with a way to delay shipping until a certain date.
Are there any suggestions? Is there an app that will hold the oder in Shopify and only release it on a scheduled day?
If that doesn’t work, I’m thinking that I can put a form on my product pages and collect a users name and email and then email customers on the date they specify reminding them to place an order. I would have to set up an email flow that could accommodate that, so I would rather go with them placing on order when they are on vacation, and then that order delivery when they are back home.
Suggestions, please!

@PalmtreeChops recommendation sounds like it should do the trick, if not you can do this with Order Automator.
Out of the box you can set a delay on fulfillment requests, and connect to Amazon FBA for automatic fulfillment, so for example you could have orders request fulfillment after X minutes / days. In your case, with specific dates, we should be able to do a customization, if you can have the shipping date show up in the order data, for example an order tag.
Example: Order comes into Shopify with tag “Fulfill on 2023-05-05”, then Order Automator could detect that tag then schedule a job to request fulfillment on that date.
Just giving you a backup plan, if you find a ready-made solution that sounds like the smoothest move.

Hey @CJannes - realise this thread is a little old, but we’ve built an app that is built exactly for this purpose - it lets shoppers “Order for later” and choose a delivery date - you can even incentivise people ordering for later with bespoke discounts etc.
