Scheduled orders are created because billing is past anchor

Hi everyone!

We’re experiencing some strange behavior when using anchors with subscriptions.

We have a merchant that has the following setup: anchor is the first of the month + pre anchor behavior is ASAP (i.e. immediately trigger an order on checkout).

But we’re seeing cases where on the subscription contract, instead of giving us the 1st of the month for the billing, Shopify returns the 2nd of the month. So our system triggers the billing attempt on the 2nd of the month, causing the order to show up as scheduled for the next month instead of unfulfilled for the current month because the anchor date has passed. Any idea what the issue could be?
