I currently face what appears to be a unique challenge with my print-on-demand business. I aim to sell Limited Editions through my Shopify store.
My inventory is controlled by my drop shipper’s third-party app, which brings the products into the store and fulfils them. However, I need to control my product listings independently. Even though the drop-shipper may have many prints available, I want to limit the listing for each product to just one. Once sold, it should be marked as sold out across all variants, ensuring only one item is sold per product.
I’m seeking a solution that allows me to separate my store inventory from the drop shipper’s available stock, enabling me to create product bundles where I control the inventory. When an order is placed, I want to initiate fulfilment with the drop shipper myself. The drop shipper’s stock should only override my inventory if they run out of items.
Ideally, I’d like to ‘ghost’ the products I have set up with the Dropshipper, making them available at my store and setting them as the master inventory. When an order is placed, it should be on hold until I manually initiate fulfilment with my drop-shipper.
Can anyone provide a practical and feasible solution to this situation? I’m looking for clear steps that I can implement.
Many thanks,
