Hey guys, does anybody knows how to fix this?
I’ve been trying to optimize my SEO store and I am trying to get more relevant and get more sales, but I noticed that all my pages have the same description of SEO, I am going to add a photo showing that.
Thank you
Hi,
You can directly change the meta titles and descriptions from the particular page (Kindly check the search engine listing preview option)
Hi @tomas_marino1 ,
I checked your website https://www.houseofmate.com/ in Google search and indeed, it shows that your meta description were being used many times in search results.
I noticed, that some of the URLs like this one https://www.houseofmate.com/collections/all/ does not have a meta description setup to it.
Why does Google show a different meta description?
Google might not always show the title and meta description you’ve configured for the site. Google primarily uses the content on the page to automatically determine the appropriate snippet. They may also use descriptive information in the meta description element when it describes the page better than other parts of the content. Though they are always working to make them as relevant as possible, Google is still the one to decide what your SEO title and meta description will be. You can help improve the quality of the snippet displayed for your pages by following the best practices for creating quality meta descriptions.
You can read more about it in their documentation.
You can also check the Yoast SEO for Shopify app it allows you to set a meta description for your pages, collections and products. You can try the 14-day trial period and test it on your store.
Hey, I was just checking and it does says that I have a description of the collection page, I will attach a photo to show you
Hi @tomas_marino1 ,
I am happy to know that I can be of help.
I have checked this product https://www.houseofmate.com/products/house-of-mate-imperial-pampa-mate/ and indeed you have added the meta description.
I would like to clarify that the "Description" field is for your product description and the “Search Engine Listing” area is for your SEO title and meta description.
However, it is not the same meta description in Google search results.
If you have just updated the "Search Engine Listing area", and the meta description is not showing in the search results. You can ask Google to re-crawl the page and update it’s index. You can read more about How to update information in Google search results in this Help article.
Please keep in mind, Google is still the one to decide what your SEO title and meta description be. There are several reasons why Google is not showing the meta description you entered. The most common reason is that Google thinks that their snippet is better (for that search or for the user).
You can read more about it here: Google shows the wrong meta description for my site.
I hope this helps.
