I renamed my store, to offer a completely different product line - but have missed updating an email link somewhere, that keeps pulling the previous contact email (using the old store name) and I’m not sure where that is pulling from. I have a new theme installed, have gone through the various settings that I know would store my contact email address, and am now wondering if there is something in a code line somewhere that this might be pulling from? Any thoughts greatly appreciated
Hey @Annieonline ,
Hope you’re doing well ![]()
Here are the specific places to check for that outdated email address:
- General Settings:
- Go to Settings → General → Store details
- Check both your store email and sender email
- Theme Settings:
- Go to Online Store → Themes → Customize
- Check footer settings (often contains contact info)
- Look for any “Contact” or “About” sections
- Check header settings if you have contact info there
- Transactional Emails:
- Settings → Notifications
- Look at email templates, particularly order confirmations, shipping notifications, etc.
- Check the sender email for each template
- Pages:
- Check your Contact page content
- Look at your About page or any policy pages
- Review your homepage sections if they include contact info
- Navigation Menus:
- Online Store → Navigation
- Check if any menu items have mailto: links
- Apps:
- Check any contact form apps
- Review email marketing apps (Klaviyo, Mailchimp, etc.)
- Look at customer service apps (Help Center, FAQ)
- Theme Code:
- Online Store → Themes → Actions → Edit code
- Search in theme files for your old email address
- Check specifically in header.liquid, footer.liquid, and contact-form.liquid
- Checkout Settings:
- Settings → Checkout
- Review email marketing settings and additional scripts
Since you mentioned you’re getting emails from a link, it’s likely either in your theme settings/code or on a specific page. I really hope you find that, in case not, let us know and we’d love to help.
Cheers!
