Shopify and Royal Mail click and Drop, fulfil orders

Hi there, we use Royal Mail click and drop for posting out our orders, and generally, we find it works well. When we mark items as dispatched with Royal Mail, Shopify gets updated automatically to say the order has been fulfilled. What does not happen is when an order is marked as pick up, Shopify does not seem to talk back to Royal Mail to say this order has gone. As far as I am aware the only current way would be to mark the order in click and drop as posted by another courier.

It means at the moment Royal Mail thinks we have hundreds of outstanding orders, as they were pick up in-store orders.

Hi @marcusrcoates ,

Thank you for reaching out about this. It certainly sounds like the issue here is the communication between Shopify and the Royal Mail site in terms of when an order is marked as picked up. My guess is here that as the Click & Drop Shopify extension was created prior to the pick-up feature being made available within Shopify, the app’s API that helps the two platforms communicate is not set up to allow for this information to be communicated.

The Click & Drop channel is built and supported directly by Royal Mail, so I am not able to confirm if this is the case. I would recommend reaching out to them directly to ask about this and to see if a solution is possible. They have a contact page you can visit, and you should be able to reach out to them after clicking on Shipping solutions > Click & Drop.

Kind regards,
