Shopify Checkout Pay Later

Topic summary

A user is looking to enable a “payment due later” option at checkout for B2B customers with established payment terms. They can currently create draft orders manually in the Shopify admin with deferred payment, which integrates with their ERP system for invoice processing.

Current limitation:

  • The checkout only offers PayPal as a payment method
  • No native option for customers to self-select deferred payment at checkout

Suggested solution:

  • For non-Plus merchants: Use third-party apps
  • Recommended app: BSS: B2B & Wholesale Solution, which includes Net Term (buy now, pay later) functionality alongside other B2B features

The discussion remains open regarding whether Shopify Plus offers native solutions for this workflow.

Hi I can see in the shopify admin portal, that when i am keying on a test order there is a tick box for payment due later. This allows me to create the order which i can then export into our ERP system, this is needed as we have payment terms with customers and what to make use of these.

My question is, on the shopify checkout, currently i have an option to pay using paypal but that is it, is there anyway to add this payment due later functionality into the checkout so a customer can just select that, confirm the order and then have payments handled through invoices from our ERP system which is our current process?

Except that you are Shopify Plus, you have to use 3rd party apps. I found an app called BSS: B2B & Wholesale Solution, which has a lot of b2b features, including Net Term (buy now, pay later)
