Hi all,

I’m wondering if anyone can help point me in the right direction.

We are looking at migrating a large number of existing client’s e-commerce sites over to Shopify, many of which would require a call back to our stock control system or need to affect the basket contents within Shopify.

Does anybody know whether any of the below are possible, and if so whether they require a particular Shopify plan level in order to implement them…

  • Promotions
  • Stock position (web and multiple stores) - consider reserved
  • Pre-ordering
  • Delivery scheduling and diary (Pick from a list of delivery timeslots within checkout)
  • Price bands (e.g. Discounts for loyalty members / trade members etc)
  • DigiTickets - is there an integration already for this?
  • Customer area for adding points, accessing discounts coupons
  • Use of Gift Card system with Shopify (i.e. Payment methods)
  • Update cart with discounts from remote API

Thanks in advance!

Andrew

Hi Andrew,

What you’re looking to achieve is definitely possible on Shopify including things like dynamic promotions, delivery time selection, loyalty pricing, and even syncing with external stock systems.

Some of these will depend on the Shopify plan and might need a mix of apps or custom API work. There are also a few lesser-known solutions for features like pre-orders and remote cart updates that aren’t widely talked about.

Happy to point you in the right direction if you’re still exploring options.

Hey,

For Shopify-only implementation: Promotions and Price bands work through Discounts in admin. Stock position across locations requires Shopify Grow plan or higher (ProductsInventory). Pre-ordering needs enabling Continue selling when out of stock per product. Delivery scheduling, Customer area points, Cart updates via remote API, and DigiTickets integration aren’t available natively.

For pre-ordering specifically, K1 PreOrder automates this (I’m the founder) with automatic button replacement, threshold-based scheduling, and inventory management. K1 PreOrder listing if relevant.

Happy to help with Shopify setup or custom development approach.
