Shopify drop-down menu issue

Topic summary

New store owner wants a header drop-down that displays multiple categories and subcategories in a single horizontal line. After ~6 categories, the 7th wraps to a new line, creating a messy layout. They reference another store (Emarine Hub) as the desired “mega menu” style and attached screenshots central to understanding the target design.

Requested guidance on achieving a similar layout for their theme’s navigation.

Responses:

  • A supporter requested the store URL (and password, if applicable) to review and propose a tailored fix.
  • Another suggested two approaches: custom CSS (styling adjustments to control layout/width/wrapping) or using a dedicated menu app. Specifically recommended the Meteor Mega Menu app with “Amazon” or “Stardust” templates, and provided a demo link.

Current status: No confirmed solution yet. Next steps include sharing store access for diagnosis and deciding between theme-specific CSS changes or adopting a mega menu app. Open questions remain about the store’s theme constraints and exact CSS needed.

I’m a new Shopify store owner and I’m having trouble with my header navigation. I have multiple categories and subcategories that I want to display in the header dropdown menu. However, after about 6 categories, the 7th one goes down to the next line, which looks messy and unprofessional.I’ve seen other Shopify stores, like Emarine Hub, that are able to fit all their categories and subcategories in a single horizontal line in the header dropdown. How can I achieve a similar layout for my Shopify store’s navigation menu?I’ve attached screenshots of my current header dropdown (Hydramarine) and the example I’d like to emulate (Emarine Hub). Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

I need my drop-down menu like this which is given below

Hi @MSHAHWAIZA

Can you kindly share your store link (with the password, if any) with us? We will check it and suggest you a solution if possible.

Hello,
This is a great question and something that can be accomplished with either custom CSS or (if you’re open to it) and app. Meteor Mega Menu has a few templates that would give you this look (you could even include images or short descriptions of your items if you wanted them).
I’d look at “Amazon” or “Stardust” templates, located on our demo site: https://meteor-outdoor.myshopify.com/
I hope this helps.
Have a great day.
