Could shopify add underneath “Cost per Item”, a section that has “Cost per item - With Shipping” this would then give an accurate margin including postage and packaging. Anyone that has a store that offers free shipping would benefit from this feature.

I agree, that would be a very useful feature and could definitely help many store owners, especially those offering free shipping. Having a “Cost per item - With Shipping” section would provide a more accurate margin calculation, taking into account postage and packaging.

Add a metafield for shipping cost and combine it with cost per item.
Use apps like SimplyCost or BeProfit to auto-calc true profit margins (including shipping & fees).

Yeah i know there’s other app’s, but it really should be native on Shopify.
Yes, exact context was discussed with a client ( sells wallpapers in bulk) and she decided to do make a private app that lets you calc true profit and margins by adding shipping cost as a metafield.
@Nineteen72 this is a really good idea and I remember someone suggesting similar on one of the Shopify Reddit forums I check on (maybe that’s you as well😂) hopefully, a few Shopify staff come across this on here
