Shopify, Shipbob, Quickbooks Online and Tying it all together?

Newb here. First post and just trying to wrap my head around all the various integrations well in advance of launching our product. We expect to have approximately 2-3000 orders/mo and will be exclusively direct to consumer (DTC). No stores, no POS, no wholesale, no dropshipping.

We are almost surely going with Shopify as our e-commerce platform (which is why I’m posting here in shopify discussions :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: ).

We already do our accounting in Quickbooks online and plan to use QBO to run reports (income, cash flow, p&l’s, etc)

We will likely choose shipbob as our 3PL/fulfillment solution and are hoping to leverage them as our source of truth for inventory (anyone done this? any feedback?).

The last piece of the puzzle is getting our sales/orders/revenue data back into Quickbooks online. I’ve asked around and have yet to hear an answer on this piece. Surely someone has figured this out?

Thanks in advance!

Hey @olivelawn you’ve got the makings for a great setup. As you may or may not know Shopify leverages its app store to provide connections with a variety of different platforms. For your desired setup, you’ll first go ahead and open your new store then add the following apps:

  • Quickbooks Connector - which will bring over your sales channel information and create the matching sales record within Quickbooks as well as matching the payouts from Shopify as revenue
  • ShipBob - this will enable ShipBob to sync your products, customers, locations, orders, inventory to their platform. You likely will need to only use ShipBob for inventory, since the transfers API is NOT available so to track incoming product to ShipBob this should be entered here

With these two apps you can achieve your desired setup.

If you plan to move your fulfillment in-house at any point, then you should strongly consider SKUSavvy, which is a Shopify WMS to manage every part of your warehouse & bin locations, purchasing, inventory, barcoding, pick-pack-ship and beyond.

You may want to consider a Shopify Plus account when building your store depending on the complexities you require.

@PageFly-Victor @as a Bookkeeper using Quickbooks Connector with my clients Shopify account has been a breeze. Once you have everything mapped correctly you will have the reports you need and reconciliation should not be a hassle. Mapping is key

I am using an app to push the transactions from Shopify to QBO but my Shopify Holding account is getting HUGE. Maybe something is not mapped correctly? Sales seem to be ok. I don’t know how to begin reconciling this. Does Shopify have a good

report to reconcile?
