Sorting a collecting by Best Selling and Time Frame

I am looking to sort a collection by the Best Selling Products within it, while only showing products added to the store within the last 6 months or any other timeframe.

Is there an easy way to do this from the backend?

You can check out what I’m trying to do here: https://shop.spheredrones.com.au/. The Best Selling section will be a third tab next to Recommended and New Products

Hey, @JoshSpires .

Elias here with Shopify Support. Thank you for reaching out.

I understand you’re looking to create and sort a collection by best selling products added within the last 6 months. Though you can change the sort order of your collections using the best selling preset, there isn’t a way to automatically manage the collection to show only products added from a specific time frame. However, you can manually manage the collection, so that only recent products are in the collection. You can also reference the data from the sales report in your analytics, which can help with identifying the order of your best sellers.

I’ve taken a look at Sphere Drones and I can see where you’d like to put the best selling collection, I think that’s a perfect spot for that. I’m also noticing some great elements on your shop, such as the robust menus, the contact form, and the store policies, as there isn’t much that I can suggest to improve on - The shop looks amazing, great job!

Since it looks like you’ve already launched your shop, it’s important to start thinking about how you’re going to market your store. Do you have a marketing plan for your store yet?

So theres no way, even internally, to possibly know the best sellers from a collection in the last month (or any time period)

Hey, @Sean_Lowery .

Thank you for joining the thread!

There isn’t a sorting option for different timeframes on the storefront. However, you can view your store’s best sellers through the reports. While many of the reports are limited to the Shopify plan or higher, you can use product analytics (available on all plans) to view the performance on your products for the last 90 days.

There are also third-party apps, such as Better Reports, which allows you to generate reports for further analysis based on your needs, and the app does not require you to upgrade to a higher plan tier. If you need to get help with third-party apps, the app developers are always available to assist you. Simply reach out to the developers through the contact information found at the bottom of their app pages.

That being said, did you get a chance to explore the reports using Shopify analytics to see your products’ performances?

I built an automation workflow with our app mesa to support this using metafields:

Would be happy to help you get it installed if you’re interested!
