.store domain connection error

Hello all,

I am trying to connect my .store domain to my Shopify store via DNS editing in the third party admin area but have been running into issues. I had connected it previously and dude to reasons unknown it had an error and was no longer connected to my store. I have been troubleshooting for a week waiting the 24-48 hours trying to get it back to connected but have been unable to get past DNS verification and connection. I have double and triple checked my DNS settings and have found no problems but I remain in this 12 second loop of checking and rechecking my DNS settings. Shopify says my values are empty but they aren’t and I cannot figure it out. A possible related item is the .store domain admin page. When I bought it in February the domain admin page was completely different than it is now. The current page seems to be a refined and on theme version for the .store brand but the old one from February seemed to work better. I was able to connect my domain in minutes and verify it but since then I haven’t even been able to connect.

Hi,

This is Richard at PageFly - Shopify Advanced Page Builder app.

This is a frustrating situation, and it sounds like you’ve been very thorough in your troubleshooting. Let’s break down the potential causes and solutions, focusing on the DNS verification issues and the changes you’ve observed in your domain’s admin panel:

Understanding the Problem

  • DNS Propagation Delays:
    • While you’ve waited the standard 24-48 hours, sometimes DNS changes can take longer, especially if there are issues with your domain registrar’s servers or the global DNS network.
    • Even after the initial propagation, local DNS caches on your computer or network might still be holding onto old information.
  • DNS Record Conflicts or Errors:
    • Even a seemingly minor typo in your DNS records can prevent verification.
    • Conflicting records (e.g., multiple A records for the same hostname) can also cause problems.
    • The changes in the domain admin page could have changed how the DNS records are handled.
  • Caching Issues:
    • Shopify’s systems, your browser, and your local network can all cache DNS information. This can lead to delays in recognizing your changes.
  • Domain Registrar Issues:
    • There might be underlying technical problems with your domain registrar’s DNS servers.
    • The change in the domain admin page could be a sign of a back end change at the registrar.

Hoping my solution helps you solve your problem.

Thanks for your reply what do you suggest I do then? I have cleared cache and the problem persists.

Update I had an unverified domain and it was deactivated. Works perfectly now. Make sure to check the email that the domain was verified in to verify the domain otherwise it will be deactivated. Thanks for the help.
