Store Review - Please :)

Hi all,

could I ask you to give me honest feedback about the overall design & UX of my store? Been configuring it for a few months, slowly but surely - just need to know if I am on the right path.

All feedback is most welcome!

Thank you

Hey, im gonna take a look at it now.

You have a well design store, viewers/customers eyes are guided appropriately as it should. However i just wanna point out that from the screenshot here, i think you will need to place a little more emphasis on that area. its so so important and in fact, i do think one thing the entire design is lacking is to give off the MADE UK vibe/feeling. it makes you unique and stand out.

Hi there @robettinger I’ve had a look at your store and here are some few suggestions I have for your store

  1. Create a section for latest arrivals on the homepage to go along with the best sellers one.
  2. You should include some FAQs in your homepage.
The rest of the store looks really great to me and I wish you the best of luck!

Hi @robettinger,

Your store concept and branding around book‑inspired vegan candles is wonderful. Here are some suggestions to refine the design & UX:

  • Homepage structure: Start with a strong hero banner that communicates your unique selling proposition (hand‑poured vegan candles inspired by books) with an enticing call to action. Consider reducing the height of large hero images so visitors can see products and sections without scrolling. Use clear messaging and a button linking to your best sellers or collections.

  • Navigation & Collections: Make the main menu concise and intuitive, with categories like Shop by Scent, Collections, About and Contact. A drop‑down under “Shop” could help customers find products by theme or fragrance. Feature curated collections on the homepage (e.g. Autumn Reads, Best Sellers, Gift Sets).

  • Product pages: Provide multiple high‑quality photos, including lifestyle shots. Describe candle size, burn time and scent notes. Use a structured layout with a prominent Add to cart button and include trust elements like reviews, sustainability information and clear shipping/return policies. Consider adding cross‑sell sections to suggest related products.

  • Brand storytelling: Use an About Us page or section to explain your mission and the inspiration behind Wax & Words. Customers appreciate the story behind handmade products.

  • Trust & social proof: Display customer reviews and testimonials to build credibility. Highlight vegan, eco‑friendly credentials and secure checkout badges.

  • Site performance & mobile: Optimise images and enable lazy loading to improve page speed. Test the site on mobile devices to ensure fonts and buttons are easy to tap and content isn’t cut off.

  • Marketing touches: Consider a popup or banner to capture email addresses with an incentive (a discount or sample). Highlight any free‑shipping threshold or gift packaging options to encourage conversions.

Overall, your concept is appealing; with clear navigation, compelling product pages and trust signals, you’ll provide a smoother shopping experience and increase conversions.

Hope this helps!
