Strategies for Large Product Catalogs

Hey Emmanuel, I’m managing a fairly large product catalog (10k+ and growing) of industrial components that are technically complex in nature. Do you have any suggestions to offer as far as strategy and approach for running Merchant Center and/or display ads with a catalog of this nature? Are there tools you’d recommend for identifying a particular # of SKU’s to focus on, and perhaps enhancing those Merchant Listings and product pages? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

I use a lot of tools, some I share publicly, some I don’t share. These are all proprietary solutions. One tool I use to track my improvements, not that you asked for this, is explained here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8lr3cLidReM

This tool allows me to see how well my improvements changed the clicks, impressions, sales etc, before and after the edits.

As for a great tool, there are tools made by Mike Rhodes, here is a free tool: https://github.com/agencysavvy/pmax

I don’t use this tool, as I have built my own, that I like more.

There is also a good tool for checking display ads by Nils Rooijmans https://nilsrooijmans.com/

You can also use the reports to identify what to focus on. The first thing you should do is what is my question, or what do I want to focus on.

For example, if we know mothers day is coming, I would prioritize improving products for mothers day, a month or 2 before. So that is one way to focus on.

Use the reports to check what was selling well last year, then for this year, focus on improving these product data attributes.

And setup unique assets if you are using Performance Max.
