I’m struggling line most of you to find a South African gateway which allows me to seek in USD. I applied to Paystack and Fasterpay but they don’t support dropshipping. So how was I supposed to open a successful business if I can’t get a gateway to support my business. I have PayPal but I need other method of payments on my platform as this is what most people have. Shopify should list the Gateways which will accept dropshipping companies which are just starting up. I have incurred costs and wasted weeks trying to get a gateway which will take us on. This is so wrong. Can anyone advise on what you are doing that will help me? I’m desperate
Hi @Feroza
I hear your frustration, setting up a dropshipping store in South Africa with USD payments can be a real challenge. Since Paystack and FasterPay don’t support dropshipping, here are some alternative solutions:
- DPO PayGate – This is a strong option in South Africa, but you’ll need to check if they allow dropshipping. Contact their support directly to discuss your business model.
- PayFast + PayPal Combo – While PayFast itself doesn’t process USD, you can integrate it alongside PayPal to give customers more options.
- Stripe via LLC Formation – Many South African dropshippers open a US or UK LLC (through services like Firstbase.io or Wise) to access Stripe, Wise, or Revolut Business, which support USD transactions.
- Checkout (now Verifone) – Supports South African businesses and multi-currency payments, including USD, but they have strict approval processes for dropshipping.
