This is not good, also not the default of Shopify.
Seems like some JS code from the theme you are using tries to rewrite the URL, maybe default or custom one. most probably a custom one.
I suggest trying to remove the custom JS you added recently. If there is no custom JS then reach out to theme support or a developer.
