Suggesting an alternate product when SKU is sold out - app/developer?

Hello! I’m wondering if anyone knows of an app that would suggest an alternate product when a variant is sold out.

I have two products that are very similar (a breastfeeding-friendly dress and tank top). The dress is extremely popular and many sizes/colors are sold out. I want to have some kind of pop-up or embed that appears and suggests the tank top (which is stocked in all colors/sizes) as an alternative when users try to select a dress SKU that is unavailable.

I do have “you may also like” suggestions enabled on my theme (Aurora) but I really want something more specific to the selected variant, like “Tank top available in your size/color!”

I haven’t found an app that does this. Do I need a developer to handle? Thanks in advance!

I have clearly understood your query.

Far away there’s no app as per your query.

But it can be hardcoded.

But I have a question here

if you have multiple SKU sold out for a product then it should suggest all the respective products or a single?
