Started a shopify store beginning of this year and we have good organic visibility, ranking organically for our terms with paid ads support. However, we’re not getting enough conversions. We understand that we’re targeting a very specific niche, operating in sustainable clothing space, so we’re not concerned with extremely high volume. Our targeting seems to be right but its just not leading to good results. Would really appreciate any feedback I could get on my store and the reason why its not doing too great. Topic summary
A Shopify store selling sustainable clothing launched earlier this year is achieving good organic search rankings and visibility through SEO and paid ads, but struggles with low conversion rates. The store owner acknowledges targeting a specific niche market and seeks feedback on why traffic isn’t translating to sales.
Key recommendations from community members:
Revenue optimization strategies:
- Create product bundles (e.g., 3 bamboo shirts for $215)
- Implement “X Away From Free Shipping” incentives to encourage larger cart sizes
- Set free shipping threshold slightly below bundle prices to motivate additional purchases
Homepage and trust-building improvements:
- Add social proof elements: star ratings, sales numbers, customer testimonials
- Restructure homepage flow: hero banner → brief intro → best sellers → value proposition → testimonials → CTA
- Highlight discounts and purchase incentives on featured products
- Expand trust signals and brand information
Customer retention tools:
- Implement live chat support (WhatsApp integration suggested)
- Add self-service features: order tracking, FAQ section, translation options
- Provide real-time assistance to reduce cart abandonment
The discussion remains open with no resolution yet, awaiting store owner’s response to feedback.
Hi @arv_ds
I checked your store, and couldn’t find anything wrong with it.
Have you considered optimizing your store to make more money from the conversions you do have?
You can do this by optimizing your store for bigger orders. You can do this by creating bundles, 3 bamboo shirts for $215
Then, add an app that lets customers “earn” free shipping, such as X Away From Free Shipping
Make the “earned” shipping number, $210.
Some customers will buy more products to “achieve” free shipping, and you will sell more inventory.
Hi @arv_ds ,
We appreciate your inquiry in the Shopify Community. We are MooseDesk, a comprehensive Live Chat, FAQ & Helpdesk App designed to elevate your customer support experience.
Congrats on your new store! Especially, we were truly impressed by the sustainable fashion with nice focus on delivering the product style with chic models.
However, I have some comments to boost sales. Here are some of my recommendations for conversion rate, please kindly check.
- Showcase your Best seller products with discounts
I notice that you put featured products. They could be optimized with some click incentives (discounts, number of sales, star ratings, etc) would intrigue customers to get to know your products and decide purchases better.
2. Complete Homepage layout & information
As a customer, I would say that your Homepage hasn’t offered enough information to build trust. Therefore, I suggest you add some further information and the flow of your Homepage would be:
- Hero banner
- Brief introduction (shorten the current one with highlight keywords, color, block)
- Best sellers (with the preview of purchases and ratings quantity)
- Value Proposition (to differentiate your business)
- Testimonials (this is very crucial to build trust in customers)
- Final CTA button
3. Add discounts for nurturing longterm niche customers
As you target at niche customers, it is crucial to retent them as our loyal customers. It could be done by offering “gifts” as discounts to them on Produc pages in many touchpoints: 1st purchase, combo stimulus, friend introduction….
4. Try customization and certification as your USP
Also as your clothing are for sustaining use, how about highlighting your USP with customization request from customers. You could consider and try applying that.
Also, highlight more of your certification of your materials, your sustaining use to really build trust in customers (you can put them in the end of your Homepage before pushing to CTA purchase and elaborate them more on About us page)
5. Add live-chat widget feature
I can see that your website already had a help widget and live chat feature, which however could be optimized further. How about having a comprehensive live chat with order tracking, redirect buttons to social media, etc…) to assist potential customers instantly, addressing their questions or concerns in real time? This can help prevent abandonment and encourage purchases.
I suggest exploring MooseDesk, a FREE Live Chat, WhatsApp & FAQ App. You can easily reach customer support via WhatsApp, ensuring immediate assistance for inquiries. Also, the widget provide multi self-Service options such as Order tracking, Translation and FAQ section empower customers to resolve common questions on their own, reducing the need for direct support.
So those are some of my suggestions for your store as an UX expert. If this is helpful for you, please let me know by giving me a ‘LIKE’. If your question is answered please mark this as 'SOLUTION’.
Once again, keep up the fantastic work, and I wish you the best of luck in the future!
