TikTok>Shopify Product syncing and integration

Topic summary

A user encounters an error when mapping products between Shopify and TikTok Shop: “invalid params; detail: outer product has already been linked to another tts product.” This occurs when TikTok Shop orders appear in the TikTok for Shopify app but cannot be properly mapped.

Suggested troubleshooting steps include:

  • Checking TikTok Seller Center for duplicate product listings
  • Unlinking and relinking products through the TikTok for Shopify app
  • Manually mapping products instead of using auto-mapping
  • Verifying variant options are correctly configured
  • Contacting TikTok Support if issues persist

Current status: One user reports struggling with this issue for a week, unable to find the unlink option, and only seeing deleted/old product versions rather than current live listings. The problem remains unresolved, with another user requesting updates on any solutions found.

Hello, I have connected and attempted the syncing of my products between Shopify and TT on the TT for Shopify app. My TT Shop orders are showing up in the TT for Shopify app but shows I need to map them. When i go to map them, an error message pops up reading, “invalid params; detail:outer product has already been linked to another tts product”

I am not sure what to do at this point and would appreciate some guidance.

Hi @Drew21ace

It sounds like you’re running into an issue where your products are already linked to a TikTok product, and the system isn’t allowing you to map them again. This happens when a product in your TikTok Shop is already associated with a product in Shopify, but the mapping might not have been set up correctly or there’s a duplicate conflict.

Here’s what you can do to fix it:

1. Check for Duplicate Listings- Log into your TikTok Seller Center and check if the product you’re trying to map is already listed. Look for any duplicates or pre-existing linked products.

  • If duplicates exist, you might need to delete the duplicate TikTok product or unlink the original mapping.

2. Unlink and Relink the Product- Go to the TikTok for Shopify app and navigate to the product that’s causing the issue.

  • Look for the option to unlink the TikTok product from Shopify (this will clear the current mapping).
  • Once unlinked, try mapping the product again from scratch.

3. Manually Map Products- In the TikTok for Shopify app, go to the product mapping section.

  • Search for the Shopify product and manually map it to the TikTok product. This can sometimes bypass auto-mapping errors.

4. Double-Check Variant Options- If your product has variants (like size or color), make sure all variants match between Shopify and TikTok. Mismatched options can throw errors like the one you’re seeing.

5. Clear Cache and Refresh- Sometimes, clearing your browser cache or refreshing the app can resolve temporary syncing glitches. Log out of both TikTok Seller Center and Shopify, then log back in and retry.

6. Contact TikTok Support- If the above steps don’t work, you might need TikTok’s help to unlink the product or resolve the invalid parameter issue.

  • You can reach TikTok Shop support directly through the TikTok Seller Center or via the TikTok for Shopify app under the “Support” section.

Example of What the Mapping Screen Looks Like

Here’s a quick visual of what the mapping process should look like (note: this is a general example and might differ slightly depending on your app version):

Shopify Product: “Black T-Shirt”

TikTok Product: “Black T-Shirt”

Status: Not Linked

Action: Click “Map” to connect the two

Error: “Invalid Params; Detail: Outer product has already been linked to another TTS product”

If all else fails and you’re still stuck, it could be a bug in the TikTok for Shopify app, and reporting it to TikTok or Shopify support might be the best route.

If you need any other assistance, feel free to reply and I will try my best to respond.
Best regards,
Daisy

I am really struggling with this issue. I have been working to fix the problem for a week. Nothing I try works, I cannot find the option to unlink the product. Also it only shows me a deleted ‘old’ version of the product listing and not the current live listing.

Is there anything I can try?

any update?
