Hi @Ansthymius ,
Trump’s trade policies, including tariffs on imports from countries like China, Canada and Mexico, have made dropshipping more costly. Higher import fees have tightened profit margins, while customs charges on low-value shipments have further increased costs and slowed down delivery times.
But every challenge comes with opportunities. Consider sourcing products from suppliers in countries unaffected by tariffs, or local suppliers to avoid extra costs. Adjusting your pricing strategy or negotiating with suppliers can help you stay competitive. With resilience and adaptability, you can turn these hurdles into stepping stones for a stronger business.
Thanks, Ciara!
Do you know how much the cost increase when dropship to US? And what countries should I target besides US?
Absolutely, @Ansthymius I completely understand. In general, shipping costs to the US can vary depending on your supplier, the size and weight of the products, and the shipping method you choose.
As for countries to target beyond the US, consider targeting Canada, Australia, the UK, or Germany—these have strong e-commerce markets. You could also explore Eastern Europe (like Poland and Romania), which is growing fast in online shopping.
It won’t surprise me if Trump asks eCommerce platforms to charge the fees more for Non-US based companies when they use Shopify like US-based ones.
